A good friend of mine sent me the link listed below and asked if I would be interested in blogging on the topic of “Near Death Experiences”. After I read the article, I realized that lately I have been reading and hearing a lot about “near death experiences” and return visitors from heaven, which caused me to ponder the question, “Why?”
At first, my cynical side reminded me how false prophets and religious zealots have been around for centuries. I then decided the reason we are seeing a lot more of these incidents are not because of the frequency of these occurrences, but rather the fact social media instantaneously brings everything to our awareness level almost as it is occurring, even before the facts are checked.
Then I realized there might be another answer. In the sequel to Donovan’s Law, which I just completed and has a working title Soul Survivor, I wrote about a heavenly vision that takes place with one of the characters. What motivated me to write that sub-storyline? Acts Chapter 2, Verse 17:
“And it shall be in the last days,’ God says, ‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams;”
It is something to consider. Maybe it is a combination of both answers. Maybe we are reading and hearing more about these heavenly visitations because the social media does bring them to our attention quickly. But maybe we should consider there is the possibility we are heading into the “Last Days” and the scripture from the Bible listed above is beginning to take place?
If nothing else, I hope this blog will give you something to talk about around the “water cooler”.
